Standard-setting optoelectronics, components and systems
Qioptiq sets international standards with its Pockels cells, electro optical modulators and Faraday isolators. In addition we produce a cw optical-parametric oscillator (OPO), whose powerful narrow-band and continuous laser radiation can be varied from close to medium infraredrange.

Pockels cells serve as fast electro-optical switches for light with switching rates in the nanosecond range used for q-switching of lasers. Our customers use them for eye surgery, laser engraving, laser marking, laser material processing, processing of solar cells and more.

 

Electro-optical modulators play an important role in laser light modulation with applications in prepress, research, laser entertainment, measurement, and lock-in technique.

Faraday isolators act as an optical diode protect the laser from influences due to back reflections from the following optical components and processes.
 

In addition, we produce a continuous wave optical-parametric oscillator (OPO), whose powerful narrow-band and continuous laser adiation can be varied from close to medium infrared range. Due to the very narrow line width and highly stable tuned wavelength,the OPO is most convenient for spectroscopy of vibronic states. The application fields range from laser-assisted examinations of solid bodies via highly sensitive, selective trace gas analysis up to highly precise molecular spectroscopy. These OPOs cover tunable wavelength anges from 500 to 3000 nm.
