Press Release: LUCID Launches Helios2 Wide 3D Time-of-Flight Camera Featuring Wide Field of View

LUCID Launches Helios2 Wide 3D Time-of-Flight Camera Featuring Wide Field of View

The new Helios™2 Wide 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera has entered series production.
Helios2 Wide integrates Sony’s DepthSense™ IMX556PLR back-illuminated ToF image sensor paired with a wide-angle lens and four wide-angle 850nm VCSEL laser diodes, providing a 108° Field of View (FoV). The camera is suited for applications with a close working distance and large area of operation such as full-size palettizing.

The Helios2 Wide offers the same IP67 and Factory Tough™ design as the regular Helios2 but quadruples the viewable area thanks to its wider 108° x 78° Field of View. This allows the Helios2 Wide to image a much larger area at the same distance of a Helios2 camera or image the same area but at a closer distance to the target, allowing for more flexibility with camera installation. Helios2 Wide offers a 640 x 480 depth resolution at up to an 8.3 meter working distance and a frame rate of 30 fps.

Manual lens barrel alignment with OptiCentric®

Cell alignment using an alignment table supported by polar plot representation

Manual Lens Barrel Alignment
Made Easy

Centration testing usually uses a mechanical reference such as the lens barrel axis as reference. In these cases, alignment of the barrel to the axis of rotation of the inspection system is critical. Watch this video to learn how to do this easily using OptiCentric® 9 software

Fast manual lens centration testing and alignment

OptiCentric® Compact

The OptiCentric® Compact is particularly suitable for measurement of single lenses and manual alignment of lens systems.
These tasks are quickly mastered thanks to the intuitive setup. The precise measurement with an accuracy of 0.1 µm forms the basis for manual alignment.

JOIN US TO EDMUND WEBINAR – UV FATIGUE AND LASER-INDUCED CONTAMINATION OF OPTICS

UV FATIGUE AND LASER-INDUCED CONTAMINATION OF OPTICS on February 23, 2023 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. EDT

Join us for a discussion about laser-induced contamination in ultraviolet (UV) laser systems and strategies to mitigate these effects and improve the performance of your UV system.

Improve Throughput and Damage Threshold in Your UV System

We invite you to join this 45-minute webinar presented by Dr. Matthew Dabney, Principal Engineer at Edmund Optics.
At the end of this webinar, participants will have a strong understanding of:

  • Why laser-induced contamination manifests in UV systems and how it impacts performance
  • Real examples of these effects observed in long-term UV experiments
  • Mitigation strategies and cleaning techniques to potentially recover contaminated optics

TRIOPTICS introduced two innovations to the OptiSurf® center thickness measurement system

Optimizations for optics manufacturing

Faster, extended Center thickness measurement

TRIOPTICS presents two new enhancements to the OptiSurf® center thickness measurement system: a three times shorter measurement time and the new LensGage upgrade module, which enables determination of the center thickness without needing to know the refractive index of the material.

New Version – OptiSurf®

TRIOPTICS introduced the new version of the OptiSurf® center thickness measurement system.
All variants that operate with a test wavelength of 1.3 µm have been enhanced with an extensive upgrade to optimize data collection as well as the communication interface. As a result offers the fastest center thickness measurement on the market for complex lens systems with optical path lengths greater than 50 mm.

Extended field of application – OptiSurf® LTM with LensGage

With the LensGage module, the OptiSurf® center thickness measuring system allows the non-contact measurement of the center thickness without requiring knowledge about the material and the determination of the group refractive index. This information can then be applied to identify unknown glass materials.

Join us to Edmund Webinar – Comparing the Performance of Lens Geometries January 26, 2023

Join us for a 30-minute webinar on January 26, 2023 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM ET

Presented by Edmund Optics’ experts Ian Schwartz and Oliva Fehlberg to learn how lens geometry affects the optical performance of your application.

Manufacturing tolerances can contribute to performance degradation, but optical aberrations affect nominal performance even for perfectly manufactured lenses. Since aberrations can dramatically affect spot size and image quality, deciding which lens is best for your application is not always straightforward.

At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will have a strong understanding of:

  • The key impacts of geometry on application-specific optical performance

  • The terminologies and testing parameters for optical lenses

  • Choosing the right lenses for your application requirement
